How far are you from the ski lifts?

Cedar is a Three minute stroll FROM Valley Terminal lifts and Oak is four. Check out the map below for exact detail. Thredbo is a walking village, there’s nowhere to park in the centre of the village, so once you park your car, you won’t need it again during your stay. It takes 10 - 15 minutes to walk from one end of the village to the other.

Thredbo resort provides a winter bus service to get skiers staying in the village, comfortably to the lifts with all their gear. Both Cedar and Oak have a Bus stop out the front or next door. We recommend catching the bus to Valley terminal and jumping on the Merritts Gondola for Friday Flat access.

The complementary busses continually circle the village, so there’s no need for a timetable.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

The EASTERN THREDBO VILLAGE is made up of TWO individual AIRBNB’S IN THE HEART OF THREDBO VILLAGE. Oak is located on the very easterly point of Thredbo’s central village. Cedar is located on the west side, on the banks of Thredbo River.

Cedar is a Three minute stroll FROM THE SHOPS AND BARS IN THE VILLAGE CENTRe and Oak is four.

During the winter season Thredbo hosts outdoor music festivals and dance parties, on most weekends (and some weekdays) in the Village Square and the pool area of The Alpine Hotel. For this reason, we relish being a little bit removed from the epicentre.

Where are your favourite spots to eat and drink?

On the mountain we love to drop by Kareela Hutte, Eagles Nest and Black Sallees. All mid-century buildings with unreal views. Merritts Mountain House, at the top if the gondola has an outdoor beer garden vibe.

Around the valley, our favourites are Lunch at The Wild Brumby Distillery. best coffee in town from seasn, Jindabyne and Gourmet snacks from Birchwood.

In Thredbo Village, Mexican at House of Ullr, Japanese from Izakaya in Thredbo village. In summer they’re open for lunch only and do excellent sushi.

T-Bar restaurant is our favourite for dinner in the village. Handmade pastas and woodfired pizza.

Where’s the best place to hire gear?

We recommend hiring equipment through Thredbo Sports, they’re operated by Thredbo Resort, which means the collection points are conveniently located at the bottom of the ski lifts.

You can hire gear in a package with your lift ticket on the Thredbo website. book ahead to get a discount.

For beginners we always recommend booking the beginners lift and lesson package. The lessons come complementary with your beginners lift ticket and it will make your time on the slopes much more enjoyable.
